Museum to appear in TV show

A London based film crew took over the museum recently to film a brand new episode of American TV Show, Seconds from Disaster. The episode entitled 'Black Hawk Down' recreated the near disastrous American Military mission into Somalia on October 3rd 1993 which was made famous by Director Ridley Scott's  Oscar winning movie of the same name.

Sections of the Museums hangar were transformed by a set design team to recreate the Marines barracks and Ops Centre, and a helicopter from the museum's collection was modified to resemble the Black Hawk.

Seconds from Disaster is an American documentary television series that  investigates historically relevant man-made and natural disasters. Each episode aims to explain a single incident by analyzing the causes and circumstances that ultimately affected the disaster. The series uses re-enactments, interviews, testimonies, and CGI to analyze the sequence of events second-by-second for the audience.
