A busy busy week!

What a week it has been! The sun has been shining and we have had visitors a plenty, including those on special tours. yesterday saw the arrival of a group of test engineers who, led by David Gibbings the author of 'Fairey Rotodyne', enjoyed guided tours, a buffet lunch and a lecture delivered by David himself.

David is all too familiar with a number of our aircraft having spent much of his career as a flight test engineer. See our Friend's website for more information on David and the Rotodyne book. http://www.hmfriends.org.uk/faireyrotodyne.htm

I have also spent the last few days with a first year History student who approached the museum some time ago seeking some experience within a heritage environment. Daniel has had a varied few days here which I hope will hold him in good stead for the future. Daniel's most noteworthy contribution has been  finalising our 2011 exhibition, including the long task of proof reading. Patience,  of course, being a truly valuable skill to have in the museum world!

We have also been steadily making our way through the Eric Myall collection, and now have some extra floor space in the office  as a result. No doubt this space will be filled again very soon....
